SEA AND SKY

I enrolled on a part time degree course in Fine Art at Plymouth College of Art and Design, achieving a Diploma in Fine Art, alongside my diploma I completed my studies in  a final full time year at Dartington College of Arts, where in June 2005 I obtained an honors degree in Art and Visual Performance.  In 2003

 I was successful in attaining a City and Guilds in Life Drawing at Saltash College and at  Liskeard Further Education a City and Guilds in Ceramics

 

I began my art career in 1997 following retirement from the commercial world.  My initial media was watercolour, but very soon discovered whilst taking a Btech Foundation in Art and Design at Saltash College in 2001, that I had a love of 3D.  

 

In addition to drawing and painting I have enjoyed learning to carve in limestone at the Portland Quarry Trust in Dorset. My 3D work is also in plaster, clay, found materials and soap stone.

 

My inspiration comes from nature and the wonderful countryside in which I am privileged to live.     Whilst my subject matter is varied, I am especially excited by nature and have great concerns for our environment.
